Seiler & Yates Building Contractors was foundered by Directors Stephen Yates and Craig Seiler in 2000. Having worked together for a couple of years prior they started their own business. Over this time the business has found its place in the building and construction industry within South-East Queensland as custom home builders working on architecturally designed & custom built homes, renovations, extensions, units and upper floor additions to existing homes as well as commercial projects.
We work on custom designed homes to physically bring your dreams to a reality. While we keep a low profile in the community we are proud to have worked on some amazing projects that have been featured in prominent home and lifestyle magazines such as Home Beautiful. With a long history of building and renovating ‘dream homes’ up and down the Sunshine Coast we have found that our attention to detail is what brings customers to us. Having just completed our build with Seiler and Yates we can look back and say every expectation we had with our house build was exceeded. Quality, price, workmanship of all trades and ease and accessibility to call our builder Stephen were outstanding.
We had a unique waterfront block of land (13 metre road frontage and 34 metre water frontage) that required a custom built house that we designed to do justice to a rare property. Originally my wife and I visited the big builders for quotes and advice. When we mentioned “custom designed” to them that meant using one of their designs and adding on a couple of rooms.
We chose Stephen Yates from Seiler and Yates as our builder because of his experience with dealing with clients like us who bring to him their own unique architecturally designed house. Where other builders struggled with quoting because we had a unique house, this was never a problem for Stephen.
We were delighted when Stephen came in with the lowest quote, but such was his friendliness and professionalism we would have taken his quote even if it had been more slightly more expensive than others.
The advantage with selecting Stephen Yates as our builder was that you deal with the one person for the entire process. With the larger companies you deal with sales consultants, estimators, builders, tradies that don’t seem to talk to each other. With Seiler and Yates, we communicated with Stephen throughout the whole process of designing, estimating, building right through to handover. Having one friendly and approachable person to deal with throughout the whole process makes the building process and enjoyable one.
All of Seiler and Yates handpicked trades are also friendly and approachable. Being a custom build meant that we would have regular conversations with each of these trades to discuss unique challenges to build exactly what we wanted. We had full confidence in Stephen and his trades where even when we were overseas for a month the house could continue on and we were given regular updates with photos over the internet of our house build.
One of the most important things for me is the relationship you have with the builder of your house as the process of building a custom built house takes time. Not having met Stephen before building our house we have since become good mates throughout this process. This is a huge compliment to Stephen as I felt at any time (including Sundays) I could call him at any time to discuss the build of the house. On the few occasions where we couldn’t get supply of a product we wanted for the house or we had an issue that needed resolving Stephen and his tradies always managed to come up with a solution that was an improvement yet again exceeding our expectations.
Our greatest compliment to Seiler and Yates is from the expression of friends that visit our house and keeping saying ”Wow” when they walk through our house. Everyone is amazed at the quality of the workmanship, design and functionality of our home. It feels like a 5 star resort and we love living here!
